Client and tenant needs of Cornerstone Apartment Services led to a natural development of a qualified and trusted construction branch. We've operated since 1987 under the Cornerstone Apartments banner, but established ourselves as a distinct entity in 2024 to offer our services to a broader Denver audience.

After graduating from Oklahoma State University, Michael began his career in Kansas City in 2013 with a property management and development company, focusing on historic rehabilitation as Operations and Project Manager. This role provided experience managing multifamily properties and overseeing large-scale renovations from inception to completion.
After moving to Denver in 2020, he joined Cornerstone Apartment Services in 2021 as a Project Manager, focusing on building envelope renovations and interior common area improvements. His property management background allows him to assess issues from all angles, implement solutions, and develop scopes of work that maximize value for clients based on real-world experience.
Andy received his BS in International Business from the University of Denver. Since 2010, he has been an asset to Cornerstone Apartment Services, starting as a Portfolio Manager, where he managed diverse properties, from vintage buildings to high-rises and Class-A new construction. Seeing the need for better execution of capital projects, Andy became a Project Manager in 2016, driving business growth.
In 2019, as the team expanded, Andy became Construction Manager, overseeing major capital projects, full-building renovations, interior and exterior improvements, and energy efficiency upgrades, including Energize Denver/Regulation 28 energy efficiency improvements and construction management consulting services.
TED behrend
Grew up in the Madison, Wisconsin area and started working maintenance in multifamily housing from middle school through college. Ted graduated from Colorado College with degree in economics and started working for Cornerstone Apartment Services in 2013 as a Portfolio Manager where he would end up managing over 30 apartment buildings totaling over 600 units primarily in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Denver.
In 2018, Ted transitioned into Project Management of multifamily properties. For the last 4 years, his focus has been improving the interiors of apartment units. Ted has experience in all phases of project management including estimating, product procurement, day-to-day project management, project close outs, accounting and warranty.
Josh received his BS in Architecture from the University of Colorado, Denver. Josh joined the construction team in 2023 as an Assistant Project Manager. Prior to joining Cornerstone, Josh was a Project Manager with Alpha & Omega Landscaping where he oversaw both commercial and residential projects. Since joining Cornerstone, Josh has supported a wide range of interior and exterior projects for Michael and Ted. In addition, Josh is leading Cornerstone’s Energize Denver and Reg 28 large building (+25,000sq ft) reporting and compliance.
Joined the Cornerstone Construction team in 2023 after a long career with Jordon Perlmutter and Co, where she handled many facets of construction accounting from development, management and leasing of commercial and multi-family properties.
Today Wanda handles all aspects of our AR/AP, monthly construction loan funding, insurance and contract compliance, to name a few.
